Balancing and several QoL additions!

It's time for the first update for Witchy Woods, similar to my last jam game Tasty Galaxy, I do not consider Witchy Woods to be a game where a full enhanced version would make sense (more on that coming soon in a dedicated post), instead I will be focusing on smaller updates/patches, so that most of my attention can be directed towards other projects.


Anyways, here is the full changelog for update 1.0.1:

  • The main menu has been redesigned slightly, with a new BG graphic
  • The cursor now has a trail attached to it, in order to make it stand out more
  • Added footstep sfx for the indoor scenes
  • Previously missing text sfx have been added to the signs
  • The backspace key can now be used to skip the intro part entirely
  • Base sanity drain rate has been decreased
  • Ghosts are now having a reduced effect on the player's sanity
  • No more than 5 ghosts can haunt the player at a time now, in order to prevent swarming
  • Ghost spawn delays have been increased slightly
  • Audio settings have been added to the main menu
  • Added option to put the window in "windowed" mode (desktop only)


There is now a desktop version available for download, which is recommended over the web version.

The newest version is now 1.0.1
